We strive for the highest standards of pet care

At Plakentia Veterinary Clinic, we provide general medical support along with specialized services per scientific field, to ensure high quality veterinary care for companion animals. Our Clinic operates in line with the high scientific standards employed by veterinary clinics abroad and in par with human specialist hospitals. We could not accept the fact that in our country, a similar medical unit for companion animals did not exist!

Plakentia Veterinary Clinic embraces the vision and dream stemming from a successful course of more than 30 years in the field of veterinary practice. The modern building and state-of-the-art equipment of the Clinic, our skilled veterinary professionals, the 24 hour emergency and hospitalization services, result in immediate, timely diagnosis with an as much as possible painless treatment and effective healing.

You see, companion animals cannot always comprehend what is happening to them. Quite often, the disease is an unexplainable and uncomfortable situation to them. We take this seriously into account and do our best so that this "unexplainable" lasts short and with the least possible pain.

Plakentia Veterinary Clinic is addressed to all those who share our vision and to the pet guardians who want to offer the best to their pets.

Our aim is to provide the best possible care to our sick or injured friends, just as we would do for the rest of our family members. The same goes for their guardians…

Blue

Blue

Blue was admitted in our clinic as an emergency, escorted by Miss Orfanou. The case was critical; Blue had been vomiting, she was depressed and anorexic. A diagnosis of diabetic ketoacidosis with concurrent pancreatitis was reached. Following hospitalization in the intensive care unit of our clinic and a lot of effort from the veterinarians, nurses and Blue herself, she was finally able to return home. Frequent rechecks and glucose measurements were required until the ideal dose of insulin for Blue was found. Three months later, Blue was readmitted due to acute blindness. Cataract was diagnosed in both eyes and it was surgically treated with success. Since then, Blue enjoys playing like her healthy friends, while receiving her daily treatment for diabetes.

Candie

Candie

Candy was 10-years-old when she suffered from advanced periodontal disease and a 3rd degree heart murmur. However, being a geriatric patient did not prevent her from receiving the dental care she needed. A dental cleaning was performed under general anesthesia. A few months later, during spring, Candy was admitted once again due to a sudden onset of coughing. Two grass awns were found in the oral cavity; one was removed from each tonsil. The awns are usually found in the paws, nostrils or ears of our little friends during summer and require immediate treatment. Ms. Pinatsi trusts the veterinarians and nurses of our clinic for the treatment and hospitalization of her beloved pets, as well as many of the stray dogs and cats she fosters.

Johnny

Johnny

Miss Athina Stamatopoulou visited the clinic in 2017 with Johnny, a 4-year-old male cat. He was unable to urinate for the past few days, until he was diagnosed with idiopathic cystitis. He responded well to his treatment and fully recovered. Since then, Miss Stamatopoulou working together with Mr. Roumpeas and the rest of the veterinary team of our clinic, have treated the rest of her feline friends: Lisa who was suffering from chronic renal disease, hepatitis and FIV; Jenny who gave birth to three healthy cats by caesarean section; Johnny Junior who faced feline parvovirus; Mavroulis who was diagnosed with triaditis; Billy after a spinal injury and Coco who swallowed a foreign body.
