The seriousness of surgical case treated in Plakentia Veterinary Clinic, the critical condition of many hospitalized animals and the need to deal with the pain of sick animals, has lead our Clinic to the need to create a separate department of anaesthesiology, intensive care and pain management.

Mrs Eumorfia Totta is the Veterinarian-in-charge of the Department.

Mrs Eumorfia Totta has been working at Plakentia Veterinary Clinic for the last 7 years. During the period 2018-2019 she attended a 7-month training program at the Companion Animal Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

In 2020, she completed a course specializing in Companion Animal Intensive Care at the Liverpool University and acquired the Certificate in advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) of RCVS. Furthermore, she holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Professional Studies (PgCert VPS).

Mr. Angelis Varkaris is the Nurse-in-charge of the Department.

Mr. Angelis Varkaris is a Veterinary Assistant graduate and works at Plakentia Veterinary Clinic since 2015. He has practiced in large clinics in Athens, as well as in the Archelon Sea Turtle Rescue Center. He has attended training courses and holds a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification in Anaesthesiology and Pain management, as well as in emergency cases and disease-related diet. His main fields of interest include anaesthesia, pain management and intensive care. Last but not least, since 2019 he works as a Veterinary Assistant Instructor at Korelko School.
